1. The rules of the competition are as follows:
Photographs submitted should be on the theme “Everyday in Africa” – focusing on the whole continent and not just South Africa.
Photos must be emailed to contributors@africamediaonline.com by midnight 20 October 2014 with the subject line “Everyday in Africa competition”
Photos should be 1000-2500pix longest side
A caption, country,the photographer’s name and facebook page link should be provided in the body of the email
2. Closing date for entry will be midnight 20 October 2014. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
3. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
4. The photos will be uploaded to an album on 21 October 2014 where people will be able to vote by LIKING the photos until til 24 October 2014
5. Winners will be chosen: as a result of a popular vote conducted via Facebook as measured and recorded by Africa Media Online.
6. The winner will be announced on https://www.facebook.com/africamediaonline on 27 October 2014
7. The winner will be notified by email on 27 October 2014. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 2 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
8. The prize is 2 complimentary access passes to the Photo & Film Festival 30Oct-2Nov 2014 in Johannesburg. Transport to the event is not included. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered.
9. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
10. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

12. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
13. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
14. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by South African law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
15. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current South Africa data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

17. The photographs supplied will not be made available for licensing through www.africamediaonline.com unless the photographer gives their consent.
18. By submitting photographs, photographers agree that the images belong to them and are their original work
19. Employees of Africa Media Online or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
20. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
